The OBHS provides a range of African-Canadian educational materials for research and other purposes. There are also oral history and video cassettes available for use at the office.
Private collections on certain historical and contemporary figures such as Mary Ann Shadd and Leonard Braithwaite are available to the public.
EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS INCLUDE:
A school information kit (teachers guide for classroom).
Books on contemporary Afro-Canadian writers.
A reference library including biographies, news items, and special collections of historical and contemporary personalities.
Audio-visual presentations for schools, businesses and community groups.
A quarterly newsletter.
The Society has extensive slide, print and negative collection for use by researchers, students, educators, businesses, community organizations and the general public.
